Updates to the wiki

16 May 06 - 3:20 pm

The wiki has been updated from the 2005-09-22 release to the 2006-03-09 release (Changelog). No changes users will likely notice. I am working on making the theme work and look better. So if you have comments or complaints (other than the edit box not behaving properly), feel free to add comments to this entry or shoot Brian an email.

PivotLog updated

07 May 06 - 10:42 pm

PivotLog was updated from 1.3 RC1 to 1.3 RC2. 1.3rc2 announcement. The only change you would likely notice is the addition of the stupid question for comments. That particular feature was actually implemented a few weeks ago when the blogs started being hit by comment spammers. So in theory, most of the other changes are simple refinements to various pieces (including a bunch of extra features for the admin (that's me)).

Update: whoa, an all new calendar system seems to be in place now. You won't see it on a blog until the blog is updated or the frontpage of the blog is updated.

Update 2: Not that anyone should notice anything, but the random entry extension that makes the quotes show up was updated from version 1.2 to 1.3 (changelog)

Pretty URLs: I finally enabled pretty urls in PivotLog. Instead of urls that look like "/pivot/entry.php?id=123", now they look like "/archive/2006/02/17/title_of_an_entry".

The Wiki is ready for alpha testing

25 February 06 - 8:20 pm
The TableNaked Wiki is now ready for alpha testing. I am interested in one or more people that has an idea of something they would like to do with the wiki to test it. Shoot Brian an email if you are interested.

Note, It is possible to setup various permissions on specific pages/sections. So if you want a personal wiki space, that can be done. If you want a space that isn't viewable by the general public, that can be done. If you have an idea that requires full public edit access to be available, that also can be done.

Note, the login database for this is SEPARATE from the one for the blogs.

Gravatars, comments, and and Update

13 February 06 - 4:38 pm

Globally recognized avatars (Gravatars) are now displayed in comments for those email addresses that match a Gravatar account. Note I have also removed email addresses from being shown in comments.

Pivot was updated to the release candidate for 1.3 (changelog).

Quotes!

06 January 06 - 6:47 pm
There be a random quote box now.  Look in the lower left corner of the page.  To answer the questions that I am sure will be asked.  No there isn't a way to see all the quotes.  Anyone with an account on Table Naked Blogs can add quotes to the category default-quotes (no quotes that are outright crude or are majorly embarrassing).

Blue, PivotLog update, external blogs, comments

06 January 06 - 07:04 am

Blue seemed to be the preferred choice, so blue it is. Thank Kathleen for choosing the pleasant color scheme. The animated logo is still being worked on.

PivotLog, the package that runs these blogs was updated to 1.30b3 (changelog).

If a member of the table has an external blog and wishes it linked from the menu at the left, either send Brian an email, or make a comment below.

If anyone has any comments or complaints about the look or interface to the Tablenaked Blogs, feel free to make a comment below or send Brian an email.

A color scheme

05 January 06 - 09:22 am
Well, with Kathleen's updated neon-esque design the clear winner, a color scheme to match the logo needs to be choosen. Kathleen has assembled a bunch of possible color scheme mockups are included in the body of this post. Note that there are plans to animate the logo and make it flicker. post continued

A TableNaked Logo

18 December 05 - 7:08 pm
Only about two months after I initially said I would do this, I present a logo contest. Follow the more link below to see all the entries. Included are all of the images I have so far recieved. If anyone has new suggestions, I would be happy to include them. Feel free to make comments on the designs or send Brian an email with your preference. Note that the general design you see on these blogs is staying (the color scheme can change to fit the logo) (unless of course there is a brave soul who wishes to design Brian a non sucky css based template). post continued
